Rjintina's Conscious Rock Music
My name is RJ. I'm a musician living in Boulder, Colorado starting a new music genre called Conscious Rock. I play my music under the stage name of RJINTINA (R-JIN-TINA).
My main web address is http://www.rjintina.com/. I have two MySpace accounts located at www.myspace.com/rjintina and www.myspace.com/rjjam where you can also hear my music.
I've had quite an internet following taking place after only 5 short months in the music business. Most of the song samples you find there will be re-worked to a final completion.
I'm also shooting a music video on Sept. 19th. about my new song called Conscious. It has a lot of meaning and looks very promising, especially given the state of the world today. It's going to be very powerful.
I plan to write more songs along the caliber of Conscious as well.
I'm also a yoga instructor and have been strongly influenced by many of the teachings offered in Yoga, surrounding the concept of Consciousness.
My music will be socially conscious and will not contain lyrics that are degrading to women or explicit. Suitable for all ages really.
My song Conscious has a strong positive social message, and all of my songs will be positive in nature - relating to many social issues that we're faced with today ... divorce, single parenting, etc.
I've defined my belief of what Consciousness, and what I think it means:
Consciousness:
Being aware of who you truly are as a person in the world, and your importance to humanity by making a positive difference.
Our music is meant to be enjoyable and thought provoking. And to bring about an "awareness" and hope that together - we can find a better way ... to be socially conscious.
You really should have a look at what I'm doing. I have good intentions - and am trying to deliver a positive message to the world through the powerful communication medium of music.

How do you approach songwriting?
I've had songs come to me in a variety of situations. Through experiences, places, people, relationships - you name it. Something has to move me enough to want to write about it. Very seldom if I force myself to sit down and write a song will it ever happen. I have to feel it inside, be inspired, or be really passionate about something.
That's what inspired the song Conscious ... frustration. Frustrations with the way we treat each other as people in this world. It doesn't have to be this way. It's time for a wave of Consciousness to begin, we need to start thinking about something much bigger than just ourselves.
The world isn't going to get any better if we don't. It's up to us to change it ... it can be done. Small steps can lead to bigger ones if we truly want to make a difference.

DON'T FORGET TO ROCK!
It's real easy to get caught up with all of the hype from an internet fan base that a successful new band can accumulate. But all of the internet social networking can be deadly - if you don't get out of the house and play. If you don't remember why you got into music in the first place - you'll lose touch with your musician self and stagnate.
For me, it's always been about the music. But the internet can suck you in if you're not careful. I'm not saying don't market yourself, I guess what I'm really saying is - remember why you got into music to begin with, and just go out and do it - for the pure pleasure it brings to you and to others. This is a hard lesson I'm learning, but am confident that it will bring me greater happiness in my music career. Now excuse me while I get out and play some music!
